11:20 wait, what?
Me and my mom drive the unsold clothes from our favorite thrift store to a free clothing bank/shop thing about twice a month. There's always a lot (~6 garbage bags full even though we live in a small town) and it's kind of sad. We get to take out of it whatever we want, and there's always plenty of really good stuff.
Hi you have such a refresh personality... love your channel. Great tips on thrifting. Also great idea on personalizing your t-shirt, show us how to do it. Thanks
Estate Sales are for dead people.
as someone who's lower middle class i think it's important that lower income people get "right of way" in thrift shops since it's becoming trendier lately. low income people deserve to dress cute too, and unlike most thrifting influencers nowadays they don't HAVE other options. so overall i think thrifting is something that everybody should be allowed to do, i just don't think it should be monopolized by people who have the option to go somewhere else.
hey ummm....euh thredup is kinda idk....i love but i find it hard and stressfull any other stores? sorry if im being rude or anything thx 4 ur help
That Mario joke got me
i just wanted to share that i found a bunch of old vintage clothes in my mom's closet and am so happy that i found them
These are some amazing tips thanks so much for sharing! 💙💙 XOXO Celine from List Perfectly
I miss her uploads but I'm glad she's still posting on insta
I'm reading the comments and just feeling grateful for having a zillion good thrift stores in my area I somehow thought it was normal.
when my mom was younger she used to buy really expensive clothing (Like Chanel, Gucci, Givenchy, etc.) and she would give them to cheap thrift stores so the people that shop there would be happy that they found something like that.
I have the exact same hairstyle as Ashley but she nails hers and as for me i look like Willy Wonka with long hair
@Valerie 😂Its unfair
But like same... I look like Dora the explorer 😶😐
Omg this made me laugh so bad, it made my day😁✨
Man clothing is shit profit unless your insanely knowledgeable....I see it way too often and only failure. The heck im taking pictures and waiting for a return for $20 profit. Better to sell anything else with a 0.1% return rate. I never ever get returns. I can think of one item in the past two years. Two pictures and list condition and thats it for my items...no need to describe anything. done. If it takes more than 3 minutes to list an item total, leave it. Or requires time to package, leave it. Obviously have to judge value, but $20 profit items, leave it. Best tip is...look up the value of every single item, even if you think it has value. I guarantee the things you think are valuable are worthless 90% of the time.
It's so annoying, I'm so lazy. I thrift like 10 hours a week and easily pay all my bills. I don't touch clothing, it's a complete waste of time. Scan everything but clothing, in and out of a store in less than 10 minutes. I understand the unethical thing, but finding a $300 vintage game a few days ago....I mean eh, I don't really feel bad. I rarely find anything of value that is a necessity for low income people. But do what your interested in....it will only work if you care about what you sell.
CHEERS to Polo Ralph Lauren (or any RL). Recently found a polo Ralph 100% silk maxi dress worth ~$800 for $60 at Ross Dress for less. Also a polo Yellow cashmere sweater and 100% silk pajama top/ each under $25.00.... CHEERS to the pajama section. That’s why you’re a find beautiful silks that are not marked up.
First Step: have that trift store in your area😳
I started thrifting a few years ago when I volunteered for an op shop for work experience. I learned through doing that work how much money I can save by buying clothes at those places. You can get some really great pieces for really cheap as well! Usually denim jackets are really expensive, but I found a really nice one for like $4. It was half price apparently.

14:20 Good thing I have practice. As a girl who doesn't like crop tops, booty shorts, skirts, dresses, showy backs, v necks, semitransparent things, and clothes that actually fit me, I do this every time I drag my butt out of the house once a millennia to replace my 5 remaining articles of clothing! :)

Sure, there’s a surplus of secondhand clothing. IF you wear a straight size. Enough of encouraging people to purchase larger or plus size items and “upcycle” them into something smaller. Bigger people have a hard enough time finding clothing that fits, let alone finding secondhand clothing that’s in decent condition, without smaller people buying it as a craft project.
WISH we had proper thrift stores in the uk, it’s looks the funnest thing ever
god im so obsessed with thrifting, but it sucks being a plus-size cause there's like One (1) Rack and all of it looks like it's from 1995 in a not good way
Y’all really go look at thred up I literally just got a $600 purse for $70 including shipping using Ashley’s code.

Stop! I am watching this for the first time and its awesome to see that you go to the thrift stores where the rich people are. HAHAHA I use to do this in high school once upon a time.. It was honestly before thrift was thought of and everyone wore American eagle and uggs like your experience hahah. I would go to the richest neighborhood in my area and KID YOU NOT girls would donate last seasons looks from major stores to goodwill and then on the first Sunday everything in the store was 50 cents. My parents never bought me new anything so I was so blessed that other parents spoiled their kids so much they basically gave name their new clothes for free, opps! Everyone always wondered how I looked so chic and I never told anyone. Also I love that you look for LIZ. I also do this how fun!!
Ooo, that’s so smart!
I really liked this video! Thanks for sharing!!! But... I was wondering... Do you fast forward your videos a little or do you talk that fast in real life??? Anyway, sending love xx
I have an elder sis and when she doesn't like to wear her old clothes or do not fit her anymore she gives it to me. My half of the closet is filled up with her clothes
Hey! English is not my native language and I don't really understand the therm "reformation dress/clothes". What is it please? 'Cause I tried understanding with different circomstances but I litteraly have no clue of what it is...
im tight on a budget with cloths due to me being pregnant and just my weight fluctuations due to pcos and thank you for this!!! I wanna thrift properly.
So I’m a bit of a ocd (kinda scared of germs) and my friend all thrift and have pretty clothes. But I’m afraid of thrifting because a person has worn them. So any tips for that?
There are multiple videos of sanitizing thrifted clothing!
Up til now I've mostly been using thrift stores for Halloween and cosplays but I have been meaning to start using them for everyday stuff, so thanks.
i can't believe i never thought of listening to my podcast while thrifting!!! omg you just solved my biggest issue (boredom & impatience)
I think that a lot of people are making their own clothing as well
My Grandma had that picture frame!
i live in europe. the only things in thrift stores here are 20 years old skirts with animal prints :D
I can’t believe how many times I’ve watched this video even though I haven’t thrifted before but I want to except covid so yeah

Just to let you know: I still buy clothes from "normal" stores, but far less than before thanks to you. Your videos made me think and I watched a lot of documentaries about fast fashion, and even though I still contribute to the system, I now also buy second-hand and donate my old clothes instead of throwing them away. Plus, finding a vintage piece of clothing that no one around me can have is pretty exciting! Thank you so much for doing these videos! You are an amazing person and I hope you're having a wonderful day
In India, some people come to your house to take your old clothes away which they think are worth selling. In exchange, they give you stainless steel utensils or cookware.
What jeans are you wearing? The look so good!

Well I don’t have that much thrifts stores in my area
Thank you!!

Does anyone know where I can find vintage 1940s/30s inspired, reproduction or original clothing? I live in Europe so preferably from there
Does someone have a tldw
This girl comes off as very pretentious.
I remember getting bullied in school because I wore hammy-downs and thrift clothes, but now it’s trendy... I think anyone can thrift because it is good for the environment BUT- I think if you’re going to thrift, you should donate to thrift store too. I also think people should stop selling thrift store items for higher prices, it’s not far and very frustrating :(

This video is old but growing up we always shopped in second hand shops as well as like, the sale racks and such. I still shop in second hand shops regardless of the trend. I don't think there's a problem with people shopping in thrift stores regardless of financial situation, but I think it's really important you give back what you're given. You completely rewire your style? Too many tops? Really ugly clothes? Pants are too small? donate. donate donate donate. Someone will be thankful for the warm but ugly jacket, someone will love your old tops. My mom always donated all my old dresses and pants when I grew out of them and even though they were hard to part with, she just said 'you loved it right? now it's time for another little girl to love it just as much' and this is still how I view it.
I saw the Guns N Roses shirt in the thumbnail and I IMMEDIATELY clicked💀

I have never thrifted before, and I’m going thrifting on saturday. I’m soooo excited. Thanks for the tips!!!!
online thrifting is so expensive :( Its more expensive than fast shopping so people that genuienly cant afford a lot will have to use things like shein or ali express which has the opposite effect of what it was made for, its so sad :(
ngl i love grandma clothes
I found a skirt on a shrift shop for $10 and then when I searched it up it was originally $390....
1:04 I've always had to shop at goodwill and it's first come first serve it's not offensive at all if you don't get it Janet will when she goes at 5am on a Monday.
At goodwill, always check the side of the racks, that’s where i’ve found stockings and hats (stockings in packs, and always wash the hats please.)
i wanna thrift.. but in my country there are barely any thrift stores :/
This is off topic but like you should be a model
when you buy a secondhand dress but it still costs 120 dollars more than what you have... im broke XD
i feel so educated
i hope you get either hurt physically or emotionally if you thrift and then resell for 80 dollars ☺️
I always shopped mostly at charity shops lots when I was really young, we had options of other places but my parents really liked saving, and it was never cool, but its so cool to see how the table have turned!
I got a super cute vintage (and good quality) salmon color tank top for 25 cents!
When I was younger my mum refused to shop at thrift stores. Ironically my parents were really struggling with money, but my mum just didn’t wanna succumb to the “thrift store poor people”. I always was presented in overly expensive Abercrombie and such. Ofc this is a not at all great mindset- but as soon as I was able to explore a thrift store- I couldn’t shut up about them to my mum. So much for cheap. Most my friends like my thrifted clothes aside from a couple who think the same my mum does. Guess there’s always people like that but oh well. They never seem to know unless you say something!
My towns thrift store dont look like that 💀
Guys the number one tip is: LOOK THROUGH EVERYTHING U never know if your going to find Nike, adidas,Gucci, champion like u never know 😏💀
The jittery skirt ignificantly float because appeal etiologically stay except a spooky news. squeamish, fine sponge
People who judge others for thrifting because it’s “trendy” are just plain wrong. Not only is there still a huge need for more demand in thrift stores, but do they really think the better option would be to go buy mass-manufactured clothes made by some Chinese child in a sweat-shop? Seriously what would they prefer? Someone “taking away” the cute clothes in a thrift store when they can afford crappy fast fashion, or someone supporting the fast fashion industry.
do you ever use poshmark? also, pls think about selling your old clothes!! (soooo cute)
I don't know if this app is available in the US but in Germany (and I think in Europe in generell) there is an app called Vinted and ppl are selling very good clothes for cheap and everyone is super nice there
Funny how I get made fun of thrifting clothing.. like dude what-?
You honestly really cute and this video is very informative because I’m planning to start my business soon aswell

Ashley, such great tips put together in the middle of a move !!! Hope it all went good (I’m watching this in Jan 2021)
I have to thrift. I live with my parents in a really nice area but I have to buy my own clothes and i have very limited money so thrift stores are a blessing
Check out my IRworld
Very helpful vid. You might try taking a stiff toothbrush or bigger brush and brush the suede to bring up the pile and renew it therefore bringing it back to life instead of expensive professional cleaners.
