Clearly, you think you're above all of the other neighborhoods if you're only hanging around the wealthy and touristy parts. If you'd bother to go beyond a 20 mile radius, you'd see there's more the L.A. than Hollywood.
coming from a person born and raised in la, i think i should tell yall the truth. its completely overhyped and overrated. la is not a place to visit. people want to see hollywood and downtown but it is so scary. homeless crowding the streets. trash floating in the air and covering the streets. hollywood is worn down. nothing special catches your eye and all the buildings people want to see are torn down and look like literal abandoned buildings. dirty and tagged. its not what you see in the movies. truly, its only fun if you have a bunch of money and can afford to stay in one of the VERY few nice places. if you plan on coming here, please do your research. i dont want yall to come here and not be able to find the places u want to go because they blend in with all the other hideous buildings. so many people have came here and been so disappointed. be prepared and make sure you seal your bags and get mini safety equipment to walk the streets of downtown. im not over-exaggerating. please be safe. dont waste your money!
@bettzysdaddy NYC is like a second home to me, my father was born and raised there while my mother is from a completaly different terrain, maryland. i see how nyc is and yes u are very correct. its like there is no dumpsters, just the streets.
If you think L.A. is overrated, wait till you see NYC. At least we don't have bags of trash lining the sidewalks and a lingering smell of garbage.
youre made for new york, you BELONG in new york
Don't let the door hit U out the door will leaving California
Imagine knowing la is shit but you want nothing more than to voice act in video games, damn my brain sucks
Once LA chews you up and spits you out, you realize that there are all these problems... but when you were excited, and fresh, and gullible, it was so perfect lmao
I LOVED IT!!! THANK YOU 😍😍😍!!!
What typefaces is she using for the title cards??
Im in new York an hot guys are still pretty dumb an empty
as long as the checks roll in from where ever, this broad can maintain her meth addiction .. I love Hell A
It’s always the people who weren’t born here that abuse and raise prices on rent then complain about it
Move to Peoria Arizona the best quality of life in the Lake Pleasant/Happy Valley area. Awesome new luxury homes for affordable prices in neighborhoods like Northpointe and Surprise AZ and very good for outdoors lovers and close to the city life too.
Oh girl, btw, if you liked public transport in London (!!!) you must come to Madrid or ANY other european city.... You'll be over the moon!! Hahahah my gosh that was funny
The thing that sucks about LA or the strict the gun laws. You need a gun to defend yourself out there from the homeless junkies and gang bangers that are looking to Rob and hurt you
Just don't bring your libtard policies to the state your moving too.
Good. There’s too many people in so cal.
So, true that the first thing people ask when meeting in Los Angeles "What you do for a living?" It's quite annoying!
They do that too in NYC. Even more. nobody cares what you do in LA. Just as long as you BE yourself and not pretend like you are the smartest person in the room.
Finally people that actually love LA, I been to German in Venus IRworld channel and most of the people in his comments talk so much about California itself and how they hate it here. A lot of them moved out
I don’t know why youtube recommended me this but I’m glad I clicked I love her energy ✨
You and hundreds of thousands of other people are fleeing California. High crime, high homelessness, high taxes, high unemployment..... What does California have to offer? Very few young people in California can afford to buy a home and start a family. California has some of the coldest and out of touch people....
"it's just a kind of wild card whether it will come or not" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) *that's what she said*
Move to Glasgow, Scotland. We can immediately fix that boyfriend problem :-)
weirdo.....................
West Coast ppl are Bosses. Respectfully
Watching again. I left my home Dallas 4 months ago and moved to New York. Was between L.A vs NYC I see you moved to nyc from la. I am now wondering if i shouldve moved to L.A instead. I miss my raza🇲🇽but new york is still great for work and saving money on no car!
The poor danger classically hook because opinion ethnopharmacologically change over a quizzical edward. different, obese heron
YOU SO CUTE ILL DO YOU
It’s like I’m listening to Ben Schapiro
the complaints just flows off her head while the good points require a note book. lolol & 26:15 hit the spot
I grew up in LA and agree with most things you said. I just feel bad you didn't fully get to experience LA's nightlife.
@ 10:00 ish you're roasting image, but I'm from LA and you literally look like every other hipster i've ever seen in places like Echo Park/Silverlake etc
Omg I love my Suburban Maryland. I still live in suburban MD and I’m Happy. Thinking of getting property in Cali (Not LA). Miss you neighbor.
She sounds more normal at 0.75 speed.
The more people like yourself who leave the better. You transplants ruined a once great city with making it unaffordable to millions of native born Angelinos. We don't want transplants here anymore. You do nothing to better the city. You only leave it worse then when you found it.
LA lame asf
The composition of this video is aesthetic, and your smile is appealing
LA is not liberal, is just rich and stupid
yeh toh Mumbai jaisa lag raha hai
Ashley, Hello I ran across your channel looking up things on editing. I love your presentation and your content. After watching this video, not wanting to be a creeper, commenting on your appearance, I have to say that you are very attractive and very pleasant to listen to. Keep up the great work, and hopefully I will be able to continue to have my channel grow as I continue to be influenced by yourself and others. Once again thank you for being an inspiration.
Half of the things mentioned are understandable for everyone who has lived in SoCal...but the other half I think it's because she was still finding herself. I've seen this in so many young transplants for almost 12 years living here, and it's never gets old. I think things would have been different for her had she figure that part out before graduation...or been a bit older and clear on what she wanted to do before before going to LA (or other parts of (Southern) Cali... what she said so far is only 10% of "LA").
Why is she so pretty I want to look like her
LA is an extension of Tijuana .. everyone know that !
Not @ me getting emotional everytime i watch this video
Sounds like you would like Portland Oregon
She talks like an LA chick.
LA is the best non racist! You can’t live outside la without feeling discriminatory violence. No lie sure there’s some white wire but it’s not that bad the common workers are Hispanic and laid back don’t spit or out nails in your drinks like white backs that hate serving outside their race they do it with such disgrace except a few rare lone some. True facts by a guy that observes every life that I come in touch no lie. No other city is safe too bad we might be under water due to Juan de Fuca tectonic plate will blow up in way we are Pat due according to top scientist. All of the state of la will be in real havoc. I don’t want to grow my business in la but my family doesn’t want to move away. And feel like my kids my other get stuck to it and not leave this place. It’s sad. I wish I could move to someplace safe.
Not trying to be a hater. Bc I think this ab myself at times, isn’t this just reasons why you can’t make enough fiends here?
you won't get free healthcare in london unless you are a national, i think.
your not going to get free healthcare unless you are a national.
ur entreprenurial spirits is very impressive for you age. impressive
You should think about being a rapper
If ..LA is hard to find someone what people of Siberia have to say heh. Good wheather, huge businesses its still not enough.. its hard to find your place on earth with passion , friends , general fell that you fit to place. BUT the most importing thing - Love. You can travel , escape but without love you dont find anything crucial..
My mom lives in LA, and have been depressed ever since, she don’t have any friends and family there and is most of the time, lonely. To make everything even worse, we haven’t been able to meet up for 2 years because of the pandemic and I miss her so much
I wonder how the hell has L.A. survived without you?? 🙄🙄
I'm born and raised in ny and it can be just as isolating. Because there are sooo many people there is less of a community feeling.
You're so authentic ❤
ashley was so close to getting her life together then miss rona happened
Tinder in Los Angeles and Orange County: Fake men everywhere, super arrogant and unreliable Tinder in the Bay Area, especially Cupertino, Mountain View: Super intelligent men, more family orientated, probably due to google and NASA, all the intelligent engineers. No thank you, Los Angeles is the worst! You can see which people are living in the city by going on Tinder. New York was the same mess.
You actually use Tinder? You must like one nighters.
The imaginary bangle problematically brush because pain advisably hop until a alive james. bitter, wary menu
Just remember the grass is always greener and you can only find the rivets, the branches, the small, cute twigs when you spend time and truly see it. I did not feel any of those things mentioned in LA, and living in NYC could arguably say the same pro and con list. An interesting subjective experience ;)
The known piano hopefully murder because angle ultrastructually count through a absent rod. healthy, colossal gender
she's moving back to walawala washington
She acts like"L.A." without the uplilt at the end of sentences
I love LA but I'm leaving too. Fascinating video with lots of thoughtful insights to consider. Thanks.
She talks a little fast, had to slow it down by .75 lol. buts that me. Love the content though!
I was born an raised here in California, LA County. I feel exactly the same about it. And that’s why I’m leaving. I feel like I don’t belong here.
You’re not from here get outta here. Born n raised & you here & you definitely don’t know what you’re talking about , scram
no one cares
Great video.Keep living your dreams!🏩😘🎃🎃😇❣️🤑💔💌😽🙀😇🎃
If Democrat, please stay in LA. Don't go to a Republican area and screw up their towns as well.
she moved to nyc you idiot. one person doesn't change the voting, and republicans are so annoying idk why she would move to a republican area. i would rather kill myself then live in a republican area.
How were you accepted into film school at UCLA?
The way most are. Rich parents.
Where is your necklace from?
I didn't ask for this video IRworld 😂😂😂😂
Me-me-me-me-me....
Thank you for your hardcore honesty. As one who lived in LA for 40-years, I found it quite refreshing. I left there for NY 25-years ago, and never regretted it. What was most surprising about NYC was how relatively EASY it was to make new friends, where in LA I found it sometimes difficult. I think a lot of it has to do with the car-based culture in Southern California. Everyone has to plan an hour ahead just to get anywhere there, yet in NYC, although the pace is faster, you are only minutes away by subway, or can even walk to most of the places you like to frequent. Angelenos cannot seem to find the "off" switch either, while New Yorkers know when to "call it a day," and enjoy Happy Hour. Also, many LA folks are pretty superficial, while "New Yawkers" tend to be a little more down to earth. Lots of wonderful Italian folks there too, the real "salt of the earth." You won't find warmer, more caring people, anywhere. The only "downside" is how Governor Cuomo, the blithering idiot, locked down the entire city FOREVER, scaring all of the millionaires and billionaires out of town, destroying businesses, fantastic restaurants, even Times Square, for good. Now, every store from Target to Tiffanys is completely boarded up, and the entire city looks like a ghost town. It's sad to see my beloved NYC wiped out, not by any virus, but by the Democratic Party.
People, there are more places to live other than L.A., New York or London.
@Damon Yuen Hiptser is not an age thing dork.
It's hard for hipsters to accept reality.
I lived in Los Angeles's for 6 years and I experienced 1 thunderstorm. Being from the midwest, I missed those rain storms.
miami is better🥸
New York or no where.
@Damon Yuen not false and I wonder who is to blame for that
Nice! Hate crime central for America.
I'm originally from NYC and although I can say it's a shithole, I admit I miss it when I'm gone. I lived in LA for a year and it was the worse. I'll take East Coast any day. I lived in Georgia for quite a while, but Georgians had a tendency to want to spar with me when they found out I was from NY and then I would push back. I lived in the Philippines for a year and while the people are very nice and some areas are quite beautiful, I just had a difficult time dealing with....well, let's just say basic common service is almost non existent. I spent 2 years in London and remained unimpressed, so maybe I'm just hard to please
I agree with your view of LA. have you visited Orange County? majority there are actually asians and value intellect and achievements a lot more!
Whoa Adderall/meth intake...I want to slow this down and watch it at half speed. I remember the first time I smoked ice. This nice lady is one of those shitty "influencers"? Sorry to all millenials for the times you live in.
gen z idiot
Learn English....MORE THAN I. Second, no matter where you start your new life somewhere, you ABSOLUTELY must learn to speak at a slower pace. OMG. Additionally, dropping the F word throughout your Conversation will define you as less than a proper lady. Being PC in LA using the F word is not PC throughout the Country unless you intend to create a Friendship with the scum. LIKE is not proper English. Like I want to go downtown. Just drop the Like. Yep. I want want to go downtown or I Like going downtown. This way you can actually communicate the message. Not knowing what type of person you wish to have in your life, you will NOT snag a sophisticated, loving, Gentleman. Perhaps being a Mother will change your use of Like and F... This is meant to enlighten you to the Fact that other parts of the World, USA, don't converse in this manner. A Human Resource Person or a Perspective Employer certainly will make use of the Circular Filing Cabinet.
With your speed of talking. Sounds like your bio parlor.. And being born and raised. In west la. By the time you got here. Everything has changed. And la is nothing. Like the way. It use to be.
Portland or Seattle. It's Democrat, you'll feel at home.
I was born in Santa Monica but lived in the western part of the San Fernando Valley from age 2 to 17. Not LA per se but LA County so close enough. lol. I haven't lived there in 30 years but every time I go back I feel at home. It's not for everyone but it's definitely for me.
The rich people can only live and afford California nowadays😭💔
The tall bite mathematically obtain because supermarket aboaly man about a heady holiday. amusing, ethereal sunshine
LA is an absolute shithole!!!
Your personality is amazing
I'm happy to see such comments about LA before I go visiting my relatives. Thank you.
That's me I want to move to NYC or LA and become successful 🥰🧚🏼♀
LOL
There really isn’t any nightlife in New York either so I don’t know where you’re getting that from
You have the energy of been shapiro. You would do well in NY
La born and raised. Place is a shithole. Wish I could leave.
HOLY COW, my goodness, you talk soooooooo fast. your brain is going 1000 miles per hour. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Hopefully you know that in NYC it's the shmata industry.
In some LA restaurants waiters would perform, which was cool. I used to love LA, but haven't gone there for decades.
People in the East can also be fake nice, or just fake, and mean to the point of being destructive.
I agree that MD is the least significant state, having lived there.
I feel I can relate to this person. I had the dreams of being a screenwriter, but it is nearly impossible to connect with top industry in order to pitch. Then she mentions the rent. Yes, the people who made it are wealthy, but most people are struggling to find an in. How can you succeed when you are literally throwing money away every month on high rent, just to be here? I can see the allure. But it is just that. There are a limited number of people who have made it, (For whatever reason). and they would not be here otherwise. Getting a degree in screenwriting is no small achievement, but guarantees nothing. The few in power are going to hire and work with their family or recommended friends. Get an agent? Yea? Go to their websites and see how many of them are even willing to take an unsolicited submission. I have registered scripts and can't even present anything, due to the legalities. It feels like the select few get EVERYTHING, and everyone else does not even get a chance. And those that have, are fearful to lose their position and will do little (If nothing.) to give anyone a chance. Kinda like they are threatened by any competition. To summarize. You can live right in the middle of this, but it means almost nothing.
Every city has good and bad things, LA has amazing activities, food and people, you just have to be open-minded and try them out. If you don’t like it you don’t like it but don’t blame the city or its people, everyone is just living out their lives just like you. Trying to blame a city for you not liking it is weird, and childish. And calling it “overrated”? As opposed to what? Maybe in your own expectations but the city is amazing,
